Cavicchioli is synonymous with Lambrusco in Italy. Located in Emilia-Romagna, the winery is a stone's throw from some of the most famous centres of Italian gastronomy: Parma, Modena and Bologna. So it is no mean feat that the winemakers are seen as an institution and over the generations the wine has played an important role in the local Modenese community.
Founded in 1928 after Umberto Cavicchioli decided to turn the laboratory behind his house into a winery, the innovation continues today. This is a modern style of Lambrusco: lighter and fragrant without any of the shrillness – of which there are far too many bad examples. If you do not think Lambrsuco can be a serious wine, then think again.
Choose between dry, semi-dry and rose styles made with the local Lambrusco grapes. Each wine brings something different to a meal. Perfect with fried eggplant and courgette or polenta and sausages – these are soft sparkling reds that make food fun.
