Argentinian Fine Wines, Since 1884
In 1880, at only 19 years old, Miguel Escorihuela Gascon emigrated to Argentina from Aragon, Spain. His first experience with wine was working in a grocery store where he recieved 300 litres of wine from Mendoza.
In 1882 he moved to Mendoza and worked hard and saved, and within two years he had managed to buy 17Ha of land where he planted vines and so the story of Escorihuela Gascon began.
The estate was operated by descendents of Miguel until in 1993, when pioneering winemaker Nicolas Catena bought the winery and set about to make it one of the leading Argentinian wineries, as it is today.
